OUR VOLUNTEER GUESTS IN THE ENGLISH LESSONS

A MAGICIAN AND A TEACHER IN MY CLASS
I wish a had a magician as a teacher, and a teacher that taught Maths,English,Art...
Maureen Jeffrey
He/she could be a great person to have in my school. I wish my class could have the magician teacher and the normal teacher in the same classroom, because, first you have maths then maybe English and in the break, the magician teacher can do some tricks. The magician teacher could also teach the students some magic after school,as a hobby.

 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Volunteering consists on doing something without getting paid, your only benefit being the satisfaction of helping others and the experience you gain. The human race is good by nature, we don't like to see others suffer when we know we can help.
Even if it is a small act, we try, we always try.
Volunteering is an altruistic act and the world needs more volunteers, especially with the current  situations we are living. Everyone should do something, even if it is the simplest of actions, we can all add our own bit . When times are worse some people become selfish but others become more aware of others, of other people ' s needs, and they decide to do something about it.
Volunteering can offer exciting experiences. In the Olympics people volunteered from all over the  world and you could meet different people from different cultures and learn new things. You can  volunteer at the age of eighteen or send your application at sixteen but when the event is set you  will have already turned eighteen. If you want to volunteer in a big event like the Olympic Games there are usually a lot of volunteers who send their applications and it is highly recommended to send it a couple of years before the actual event. They look through the applications and depending  on the number of volunteers they select the ones they need and inform the selected ones. And don't be impatient it may take them a few months before you know that you have been selected.
Volunteers are important because it is not always possible to pay someone and it is important to know that you can get help from people that do not expect anything in return.
I have never volunteered nor have any relatives of mine but I've spoken with those who have and they've all talked about how it's life changing and that even though you don't get paid you gain a lot of things, experiences and gratitude. So if you have the possibility of volunteering and are interested do it, you're always going to be needed.

VOLUNTEERING

There are a lot of people who are volunteers but with busy lives it can be difficult to find time to volunteer and the volunteers work for free, so a  lot of people don' t find it interesting.

However, there are a lot of benefits of volunteering. For example, volunteering connects you to others and it can help you make new friends or meet people with common interests. Volunteering helps you to connect to your community and make it a better place and, while you are helping your community, the environment or other cause, you are also helping your own health because when you are a volunteer you are doing good for others so you can feel good and satisfied with yourself.

Volunteering gives you the opportunity to practise important skills used in the workplace, such as teamwork, communication or organisation. And you can teach your skills to others .

Thanks to volunteering you can find and explore your interests. Volunteering also provides you with renewed creativity and motivation. It also helps you to get work experience.
If you are a volunteer you will receive more than you give and it is good for you, and your help is good for the community and other people .

I know a lot about volunteering thanks to my cousin and some talks that some  volunteers gave us in our class. My cousin has been volunteer in some sports events, because she loves sports. For example, about three years ago, she was volunteer in a marathon organised by the association against cancer, so the money raised was used for the fight against cancer. She told me that she likes to be a volunteer because it is a good experience and she made a lot of new friends. She is very happy because she met one of her  best friends in the marathon. She also feels very well with herself and she thinks that  volunteering is very interesting and thanks to her I think the same and I would like to be  a volunteer too.
