RECYCLING , 2 ESO INTEGRATED UNIT

The  bilingual team of teachers in 2 ESO has designed an integrated unit for the 1st term. The unit is also part of the ERSAMUS + project carried out in the school in its second year. Each teacher has designed a lesson plan which includes digital resources and / or use of digital apps that help the students learn about the  topic. You can see the design of each subject in the collection of plans  below or  the website of the project . 

We would like to point out the fantastic Christmas Xmas campaign REGALACICLA which the project ended up with. You can see the presentation of how the activity was developed and the video which shows the students explaining about it . 

1 ESO The Universe

 1ESO INTEGRATED UNIT :THE UNIVERSE 

Los grupos de 1ESO han estado trabajando en la unidad integrada The Universe, donde como tarea final tenían que hacer un  programa de TV trabajo en video con las noticias que presentaran la información que descubrían sobre algunos de los planetas. Esta unidad integra las distintas materias de ANL ( áreas no Lingüísticas) que se imparten en 1 ESO en inglés : Ciencias Naturales, Ciencias Sociales y Matemáticas que conjuntamente con Inglés trabajaron con el alumnado en pequeños grupos primero en la redacción  de los guiones escritos. El alumnado pudo demostrar con esta actividad el potencial de su creatividad , su desarrollo de la competencia digital, de su competencia para aprender y hacerlo de manera autónoma. También se fomentó el trabajo en grupo , una dinámica compleja y que requiere un largo camino de aprendizaje tanto para el alumnado como para el profesorado y que finalmente llegó a la meta con resultados muy satisfactorios.

Charlas “MUÉVETE POR EUROPA “

El   alumnado de 3º y 4º de ESO recibió una charla informativa impartida por D Alexis Trinidad sobre el programa Erasmus en su materia de movilidad, empleo y formación en la Unión Europea. Estos talleres están gestionados por la Diputación de Málaga.

Con esta actividad se pretende dar a conocer y profundizar sobre los programas e iniciativas específicas  de movilidad, formación y empleo dirigidos a  la juventud que  la Unión Europea pone a su disposición .

El aula móvil “ Muévete por Europa” consiste en la realización de sesiones informativas desarrolladas en centros escolares de la provincia. Adaptado al perfil del alumnado las charlas se realizaron de manera interactiva y dinámica mostrando los recursos que Europa pone a su disposición en materia de empleo, formación y educación.  

El alumnado estuvo  muy interesado en el tema  por lo que ponemos a disposición varios enlaces para  aquellas personas que quieran profundizar  o usar alguna de la información presentada.

3ESO GOES TO THE THEATRE

FORTUNE'S FOOL

Last Monday we went to a theatre  in Las Lagunas to see a play performed in English.
The play was about a man who wanted to sell his hotel and he met a criminal who was wanted but in fact  she was innocent . So the man helped her to prove that she wasn't a criminal.

From my point of view, this play has been very funny and it has a good level of English for us. It was cool that the actor and actress on stage chose people to participate and perform on stage too. I liked the play .

ERASMUS PLUS Project 2016-18

Como parte de nuestro trabajo de investigación en el aula con el alumnado y a través de los cuestionarios elaborados por el instituto italiano coordinador IPSSCTS LUIGI EINAUDI el alumnado de 2º y 3º de ESO participa en la recogida de información . 

El  enlace que aparece debajo estará activo para rellenar en clase de Tecnología e inglés las respuestas requeridas.

Los resultados de las encuestas se publicarán a lo largo del segundo trimestre. El IES Eduardo Janeiro será anfitrión de la tercera reunión del profesorado de los tres centros que se celebrará en Fuengirola  el 5 y 6 de  Febrero.

Durante la reunión del profesorado en Septiembre en Bucarest el instituto anfitrión Mihai Ionescu presentó un recorrido de la visita de los alumnos italianos y españoles durante su estancia en familias en Mayo de 2017. La coordinadora italiana Monica Zonca presentó el resumen de las actividades llevadas a cabo en Italia  y los representantes españoles llevaron una muestra de las actividades realizadas por nuestro equipo en el IES Eduardo Janeiro.

La segunda parte de la conferencia se centró en la presentación de la continuidad del proyecto en 2017-2018, dándose a conocer los cuestionarios que ayudarán a  definir un perfil Europeo común de competencias del profesorado en la era 3.0 . Se remodeló el objetivo original de hacer esta comparativa a través de narración de experiencias que no facilitarían la comparación de datos y se presentan las encuestas  como instrumento principal para el análisis y conseciución de los objetivos marcados.

Erasmus Plus September Meeting

2017-18 ERASMUS PLUS PROJECT

We start the new school year meeting our Romanian and Italian partners in Bucarest. The days of the meeting were spent presenting the activities we had done in the year  including mobilities and the dissemination of the students work having students as the teachers . ( see link here ) 
 You can see some of the work in the link to this tes.com lessons , one of the apps which we discover through this project. Our Italian coordinator  Monica Zonca presented the objectives for the school year 2017-18 which will have a first outcome in the next meeting  in Spain in February. 

The teachers did not only participate in the presentations but also had the opportunity to visit the People's museum and get a general view of the city accompanied by their Romanian colleagues.

A delicious bright and colourful vegetarian lunch was offered at the school, including a taste of Rumanian cheeses and an unusual mint lemonade.

MEET OUR NEW LANGUAGE ASSISTANT

Hi,

My name is Madison Perkosky and I am from Dallas Texas! I'm 23 years old and am really looking forward to the coming school year as the English Language assistant at Eduardo Janeiro.

 I have lived in various places in the US including New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida, Texas, and completed my university degree in Washington DC. Last year I was a language assistant at a primary school in Mallorca and absolutely loved my time there. When I'm not working I enjoy spending time with friends, shopping, trying new restaurants,  traveling to new places, going to the beach, hiking, and being outdoors.

I'm looking forward to a great year with all the students and teachers!

ENHANCING WRITING

OUR STUDENTS IN 4TH ESO HAVE WORKED HARD THIS YEAR IN WRITING ESSAYS ON DIFFERENT TOPICS. WE HAVE MADE A SHORT SELECTION OF THEM AND MAKE THEM LOOK QUITE PROFESSIONAL IN THE FORM OF A MAGAZINE. THE ACTUAL ISSUE OF THE MAGAZINE CAN BE CONSULTED IN OUR SCHOOL LIBRARY.

INTERNATIONAL FAIR I

Click here to see a selection of some pics which tells about the busy and exciting week we had at the school, with special guests who shared with our students their international experience and background , to finish with the colourful and diverse exhibition of the different countries which our students prepared representing some of the 32 nationalities at our school .

A group of teachers playing the role of judges declared 3B , representing Argentina and Australia , the best group of the Fair. The vote of the students went for 2C, also representing two countries : Morocco and Italy. All the stands at the fair showed a fantastic job . Congratulations to everyone !

ERASMUS PLUS PROJECT 2017

We have recently said goodbye to our guests from Romania and Italy who have spent with us a complete cultural programme which included a  guided visit to Malaga city, a reception at Fuengirola's Town Hall  by the Councillor of Education , a trip to the city of the  three cultures,Córdoba , a geology study-guided - walk in the countryside at El Torcal in Antequera, and finally a visit to the local museum in Mijas, a very complete programme. 

We want to thank all the families for their hospitality and the teachers for their work , without whom it would not have been possible to make this programme succesful. Thank you to all of you! 

It has been an enriching experience which we are sure has influenced many of our students future life, families and teachers alike, giving them a wider perspective of the world and a positive experience on tolerance and respect to the differences as well as an enjoyable discovery of the similarities among people from different countries.

WORK EXPERIENCE IN 3 ESO

Laura Bueno a very versatile woman with the DNA of an entrepeneur came to our 3ESO classes to share with the student her experience as a businesswoman. She started asking the students a Lego tower which showed how each individual thinks differently and how this different way of thinking can enrich group or team work. A hands on workshop based on the Lego Serious Play methodology which aimed at bringing the students future into the classroom, helping them to see how important team work and English can offer them a better opportunity into their future career. Laura studied Oceanography and from her experience as a team leader created Karismatia, her own coaching and coworking company in Málaga. We are very grateful that Laura could share with us one day of her busy agenda.

Some of them have been displayed in the hall of the school to accompany the decoration on the Women Scientists and girls Day.
